The 31st MIF, 2026PLPEX and 2026MFE to Open on 21 October Leveraging Portuguese- and Spanish-Speaking Market Resources to Expand Global Business Opportunities
MACAU, October 15 - 21–24 October, join us in Macao to unlock new opportunities at the 31st MIF, 2026PLPEX, and 2026MFE!
The “31st Macao International Trade & Investment Fair” (31st MIF), the “2026 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)” (2026PLPEX), and the “Macao Franchise Expo 2026” (2026MFE) will be held concurrently at the same venue from 21 to 24 October (Wednesday to Saturday) at the Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao. The theme “Macao: The Global Hub of Business Convergence” will run across all three exhibitions. The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) held a press conference today (15 October) to provide updates on the preparations and introduce the highlights.
Covering a total area of 30,000 square metres, the three exhibitions will bring together around 1,000 exhibitors from home and abroad, representing over 30 countries and regions worldwide. More than 1,500 buyers from around the world have been invited to participate. The exhibition content will comprehensively cover Macao’s key “1+4” industries, including technological innovation, Big Health, economic and trade investment, agriculture, the blue economy, cross-border e-commerce, professional services and IP brands, giving business representatives one-stop access to industry trends and business opportunities. More than 90 activities will be held during the four-day event, including 10 themed business matching sessions, on-site visits, and industry forums. Through an “exhibition + inspection + matching ” model, the three exhibitions aim to facilitate the conversion of more co-operation intentions into concrete projects, attract quality projects to establish a presence in Macao, and enhance the effectiveness of attracting investment through exhibitions.
Expanding the international economic and trade network to empower pragmatic co-operation between China and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries
To deepen practical co-operation between China and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries and expand into Latin American and Spanish-speaking markets, this year’s three exhibitions, in line with the theme “Macao: The Global Hub of Business Convergence”, will further expand their international economic and trade network and actively leverage Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries. With exhibitors from nine Portuguese-speaking countries participating in the 2026PLPEX, the 31st MIF will introduce a new “Spanish-Speaking Countries Industry Pavilion”, featuring nearly 30 enterprises and institutions from 11 Spanish-speaking countries, including Spain, Argentina, Uruguay and Colombia. A series of supporting activities will also be held, including the Spanish-Speaking Countries Business Opportunities and Co-operation Forum, the 2026 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Coffee Bean Competition and Award Ceremony, the G100 x 2026PLPEX Most Promising Portuguese-Speaking Countries Wines and Spirits Award, and dedicated business matching sessions, creating a co-operation platform linking Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking markets and providing more trade and investment channels for Macao enterprises and international partners.
Diverse highlights and exhibits across the three exhibitions align with Macao’s “1+4” industrial development strategy
The exhibitions will present a diverse range of featured products and innovative technologies. A number of AI technology enterprises will showcase innovative products, including an open platform for humanoid robots, an AI scent generator, exoskeleton robots, an AI management assistant, and an instant glasses-free 3D photo printing tool. Featured products on display will also include award-winning Brazilian speciality coffee, Spanish Iberian ham, premium household products from Singapore, confectionery from a century-old Austrian brand, and ride-on suitcases from internationally renowned brands, bringing together industry-leading enterprises and major brands from the Chinese mainland, Southeast Asia, Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries and other markets. The organisers will also arrange several on-site visits covering themes such as “Multi-venue Events”, the first-store economy, and local districts, allowing business representatives from within and outside Macao to experience first-hand the business environment and development potential of Macao and Hengqin.
Diverse on-site activities offer an immersive experience of the three exhibitions
The first day of the three exhibitions (21 October) will be designated as Trade Visitors Day, while admission will be free to the public over the following three days (from 22 to 24 October). More than 20,000 gifts have been prepared by the organisers. A wide range of programmes will be staged on site. Visitors will be able to interact up close with various innovative AI products, experience the products and cultural atmosphere of Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries, sample speciality coffee and take part in workshops, as well as learn about IP brands and new consumer trends. Visitors can also explore the various exhibition zones by following a themed check-in map and redeem selected speciality products, offering an immersive experience of the three exhibitions. To facilitate travel for residents and visitors, the organisers will provide four shuttle bus routes to and from the venue. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
